Little video of Sam walking

He might not have powers like Luke yet, but he is working really hard on his squeals, walk, blowing kisses and jumping!

Thank you to Emily's friend Bekah for the bouncer! Sam loves it.

Luke's bed time routine

I can't believe that the other day I complained to Emily that it's always me who puts Luke to bed (I'm aware that she does a lot of stuff that I never do). I'm really grateful to have the opportunity to put Luke to bed everyday and have that time to bond even more with him! Our precious little 2 year old bed time routine has gone from a 30 min session to an hour and sometimes even  MORE! Not only have I discover the new meaning of patience but I've also learned that my 2 year old is a master in holding his pee and just letting it flow in certain quantities at a time. I mean he has it down, even his bowel movements! Once we have read at least 2 books, sang a couple primary songs, prayed and tuck him in and some time has passed in peaceful quietness and  I think that he is totally out he says 'pee pee! pee pee!' and off we go to the bathroom AGAIN! Our bed time routine use to have one visit to the potty! Now it ranges anywhere from 2 to 4 times. I'm  just amazed that every time we go, he actually does something.

I don't know if you noticed but our little Luke has special powers. He uses his finger to point at the reading lamp and turn it on (while I sneak my hand in there and actually turn it on). He is awesome! You should see his big grin once it turns on.

The other day while cleaning I accidentally broke the bulb of the lamp and that night I told Luke that it was broken and that I was just going to snuggle with his OSO, until he falls asleep. While peeking through my eyelashes and pretending to be asleep I could see the little rugrat sneaking out of the room. A few minutes later he whispers in my ear : "papi, broken, fix it" while handing me the scotch tape. He was so proud of himself that he came up with the idea. It was adorable, all I could do not to crush his magnificent idea was to put some scotch tape around the base of the lamp and said that it will take time to fix it.

I'll spare you from the potty pictures, but here are some pictures of our precious boys.

Sam's 7 months pictures

Last Sunday as we were getting ready to go to church, Sam was just so happy. I was getting him dressed and I couldn't resist his smiles and giggles. I went and got Luke's white comforter and placed it on top or our bed, got some pillows for support and got my little naked model!

I think the pictures turned out great, and we still made it on time to church!

This last pictures was hilarious, Sam was naked and the next thing I know Luke is naked too! He got undressed all by himself!

At Least We're Trying.

Every night we have a pretty set routine for Luke's bedtime. We drink milk, brush teeth, put on pjs, read a book and say a little prayer, but often Luke struggles with the desire to pray before bed. So, the other night he was whining and fighting the routine, because he just wanted to drink his milk instead of pray. I then took his milk away and seized the opportunity to teach him about prayer. I told him that we needed to pray to our heavenly father to give Him thanks for this yummy milk and thank Him for this soft bed. Everything we have is because he gave it to us. He is our Papi and He loves us. I went on for a few minutes explaining how important prayer was really hoping that Luke would get it. After I was done, I looked him in the eyes and asked him, "Will you please pray to Heavenly Father with me?" and he looked me back in the eye and said, "No. Leche. (Milk)" and grouchily grabbed for his milk. Oh boy.

Well, at least we are trying.

On a side note, Luke will say adorable prayers before his meals. He generally repeats the last word of every phrase that we say in a prayer and at the end of the prayer, when we say "in the name of Jesus Christ" he just says, "Amen." :) When he was younger, he actually refused to eat before we prayed and always reminded us by folding his arms even if it was just a cookie or a small snack! Now, he'll sneak a bite while he's praying or right before the prayer. He thinks it doesn't count if his eyes are closed!

I do know that prayer is such an important part of Heavenly Father's plan of happiness and it brings me great comfort. I am very thankful that I have a Heavenly Father who I can talk with. He listens and does answer my prayers. I know it is important to teach our children the basic principles of the gospel of Jesus Christ, not only by example, but by precept. I hope that I can teach my children to understand the gospel, so that they can return to live with Him someday.

Did I tell you about my amazing surprise party?

Well I'm just making a note so I do!

One of my friends got me a new lens for my camera. I'm still playing with it but so far I like the pictures it takes.

Here's Sam

Lately he's been constantly in my mind. As a parent I'm learning really fast how our children become our life.

Six Little Months

Samuel has been with us for 6 months already! Can you believe it?! Time sure does fly. I took some pictures of Sam each month-- you can tell this is my (Emily's) project because the pictures are not very good and definitely not photo-shopped! but I hope you can see how much he has grown in the last six months; which is a TON and yet not so much. He is a little guy, but we love him!

6 months:
14 lbs 4 oz (<5%ile)
26 3/4 in (50%ile)
-We are missing a picture month in there somewhere but I'm not sure which month actually (it's either 2 months or 6 months...) Anyway, he's pretty long, but still really skinny! His 3-6 month clothes are still kind of baggy on him.

-Sam is now rolling over. He will almost always roll from his back to his tummy whenever I put him on the floor, but then he struggles to get back over. Silly boy.

- He is not sitting on his own yet. He is just really wobbily and falls right over, but I'm sure it will come soon...

- He is VERY playful. He loves to grab everything and laugh and squeal. He loves to play peek-a-boo and patty cake and loves to be sung to. He loves loves loves to jump! I love how interactive he is.

- He is eating solids like a champ! He can finish entire 2nd foods jar in one sitting. He likes it all so far. No complaints.

- He has yet to sleep through the night in full. Lately it has been really bad and is waking up 2-4 times every night.

-No teeth yet, but seems to be teething pretty badly. I'm sure they are coming soon. Actually, he had one come in really early at about 2 months but it retracted back into his gums!

- His reflux has gotten a lot better since taking prevacid regularly, but his breathing has not gotten better. He is going back to the pulmonologist next week and then a cardiologist soon.

-Luke has become very protective over his little brother. While we were in Utah and staying with Sarah, my niece Claire would love to come and hold Sam's hand. Luke would freak out every time and tell Claire, "Let go of him!" and try to pry her hands off of Sam usually making Sam cry worse! Luke also claims that Sam is "Mami's baby" and not Papi's baby.

-Luke also plays with his brother and makes him laugh.

- We all sing "Sam, Sam, Sam, Sammmmm!" in a low minor key. I can't really explain it. I don't know the name of the tune. Even Luke sings it to him. Sam loves it!

- Sam is precious and we love his so much! He just melts my heart and I am so glad he is mine!

Cousin love

Cousin Emma. Isn't she gorgeous?

Hi there, nice meeting you. I've heard so much about you.

Both weren't quite sure what Claire was up to.

Sam playing doctor:  "Let me see your tonsils!" ; )

You were right

We think baby Sam looked a LOT like Conan O Brien in those pictures and sometimes in real life too! It's that crazy red hair (we have no idea who he got it from!) and the bewildered eyes. My brother in law Brett said we should send it in to Conan-- maybe we will!)

and to Alicia: Robin Williams is NOT a far off guess! Sam looks a lot like his father who resembles his father who looks a LOT like Robin Williams! Does that make sense? (Sam's grandpa looks like Robin Williams, so Sam could too!)
