Going Private

Well, the time has come. We have gotten way too many weird spam comments and don't feel safe having our pictures and stories on the web for everyone to access. So, we are going private! I will give adequate time for everyone who would like to read our blog to add their email addresses.

Don't be shy-- we want you to look at our blog-- that's why we do it! Thanks!

Florida Vacation and Halloween

Francisco had an interview for dental school in Ft Lauderdale Florida, so we all went to visit Francisco's family! It was a great vacation. The interview went really well, but Francisco didn't like the school, so most likely we will not be moving to Florida next year. I think I am okay with that-- I enjoy having seasons. All week it felt like summer-- it was a great break (especially since it was snowing in Utah) but I love fall and spring too!
Luke on the airplane. He did really well. We had some really late flights and although it wasn't easy, he did a good job. He slept in our arms and didn't cry too much. On the way home, I came home by myself with Luke and we had a 4 hour flight! Yikes! He was good. The worst thing that happened was that everyone thought he was a girl! He was wearing red pajamas with rockets on them... seriously guys! Rockets! There were like 4 different people that called him a "cute little girl" or "she did so good on the plane!"... yeah, she sure did...
We were given tickets to see an Arabian nights show. I am so glad we didn't pay for them-- it was not worth it. Each ticket is like $70 for dinner and the show. Dinner was fine but the show was kinda lame. It was with real horses and people did tricks and stuff but it wasn't anything that I could watch on TV for free and get the same effect. It was kinda funny to watch horses like dance though...
Of course we went to the beach! Twice! Luke loved it but it was hilarious when he got water in his mouth. He'd make the silliest face...
He chased birds
Swam
played chase with Papi
and ate shells while we made a little pool/fort for him!

We also went to a church Halloween Party that Friday. Luke dressed up as a Garden Gnome. I made the costume and I think he was adorable! He went "trunk or treating" around the parking lot. His favorite part was picking out the candies from the bowl.
His Tia (Aunt) Melissa with him during the "Costume parade"
Eating dinner. yum yum!

Overall, it was a great trip! It was so fun and nice to see Ines and Jerry and Melissa again.

Leche

We were trying to get Luke to sign "leche" (milk in spanish). He was doing it all night for us perfectly. Instead he decided it would just be easier to say it! So cute! I love Francisco's laugh laugh too.

Christmas presents

One of Luke's favorite pass-times is playing with the pots and tin bowls in the cupboards. One night, Luke was noisily playing while his wonderful parents were righteously trying to listen to a conference talk online. Luke was so loud and his parents couldn't hear the talk. So his Papi turned around and told Luke sternly, "If you like those so much, your gonna get those for Christmas!"

Right on cue, this was Luke's response:

haha, we laughed and laughed!

(We would like to thank Luke for the reenactment of the situation for pictures)

Crafts and Mischief

My Autumn wreath:
I love my wreath! It was so easy and fast to make. I got all the supplies at the dollar store and spend about $7 total. It took about 2 hours to complete. The tutorial is on U-create blog if you'd like to make one yourself. Amanda came over and we made them together. I love it! I just wish I had a front door to display it on...
New and Improved nursing cover:
I simply added the teal border to make the cover big enough to cover me! Sarah made the original cover for me. It was great until I washed it and it shrunk... When Francisco saw my addition, he said it looked like I was a pioneer woman nursing because of the color... silly man.

Luke's new car mat:
I made it at a super Saturday in Amanda's ward. I added personal details including landscaping on all the buildings, animals in the barn and pen, turning the church into a temple, making each house in the cul-de-sac unique, adding a see-saw to the play ground, adding lines to the streets, and naming the school "Provo Elementary". It was a lot of work. My hands were sore from cutting, but it turned out great!
I plan to give it to Luke either for Christmas or his 1st birthday. Right now, he was only interested in pulling off the pieces. He seemed to like it though! The mat is made entirely from felt and glued together (no sewing involved)

Mr. Mischief: (I can't post a post without giving a few pictures of Luke for my Ma!)
Playing in his "toy bucket". (Yes I did put him in there)
I span him around and he loved it! :)

This is what Luke did yesterday while I was washing dishes! CRazY kid!
He was stuck, but I had to snap a few pictures before I came to the rescue. :)

Fall is Fabulous

Have I ever told you how much I LOVE the fall? I absolutely adore this time of year. (Especially the indian summer when it starts cooling down but is definitely still warm out.)

I always loved going back to school. I remember tying on my new school clothes and organizing and reorganizing my binder and school supplies every day till school started. It was weird this year to watch from the sidelines as everyone else went back to school while my life stayed exactly the same. I still have the excitement though and found myself craving a new outfit to wear and looking for "homework" projects for myself to do.

Yesterday, my mom came over (she is visiting to babysit the girls for Sarah). She taught me how to use the sewing machine she gave me last year! I had not even touched it because I didn't know how to thread it, etc, but NOW I am so excited to do some projects! I want to make a Halloween costume for Luke, some baby shoes for the cold weather, an addition to my nursing cover that shrunk in the wash so now it's too short, and anything else that I want to! Yesterday, we made a Kleenex tissue case. It is really cute!

Tomorrow I am making a car mat for Luke at Amanda's Super Saturday. That should be fun! I also am just dying to make an autumn leaves wreath. I saw a really cute one on the u-create blog and I just want to make it right now! I don't have any fall decorations.

I also really want tulips and daffodils in the spring... Anyone know when and how to plant bulbs? I think I am supposed to do that soonish...

Here are some cute pictures of Luke taken a while back. just being his cute self. :)

GO COUGARS!

Well, school is back in session and football season is starting. I have always been a football fan, while Francisco is not too fond of the sport. This year, we would really like to go to a BYU game. (Francisco has never been and I think (I hope) he will enjoy it! We bought Luke all the necessary get-up for the up coming games! GO BYU!

Yes, Luke is standing! We play "ready-steady-go" with him and sometimes he can stand for approximately 1.5 seconds. haha We got some cute ones of him falling into Francisco's arms!

Notice the 2 front teeth! So cute!

Crawls and Giggles!

This is the cutest video ever! Sorry it's so dark.

Pineview Lake

Last week we were able to spend time with all of Francisco's family. We went up to Francisco's cousin's husband's parent's house. haha Seriously though. They were out of town and so we all crashed up there. They live in Mountain Green which is really close to several lakes. We went up Friday night and played games and ate ice cream cake (Matt's favorite) as a celebration for Matt's birthday.

Saturday morning most of the boys and a few others went to the lake super early (around 6:30am) to go wake-boarding. Brady owns a boat and said wake-boarding is best in the morning because there aren't any wakes and ripples so you can do a lot more and ride outside of the wake of the boat. So Francisco went and LOVED it. He really wants a boat now so that he can wake-board more!
The rest of us went out later that day. I went tubing but so beat up! I have a rash on my elbow, a swollen purple toe, and two giant purpily bruises of my bum! I think I'm just getting too old for that sort of thing...

Luke LOVED the water! He just played and played and played. He had absolutely no fear. It was so cute.

We had so much fun at the lake and with our family! They are awesome and we are so lucky to have so much family so close.
