Checkin out the news

So, I was looking at the grocery ads the other day and Luke wanted to play with the paper. He just looked so cute playing with it and pretending to read it that I took pictures. I didn't think anything of it. Just cute. However, when I told a friend about this, they informed me that I probably shouldn't let me baby eat newspaper because it's dirty. I want your honest opinion: Do you think it's really bad to give your baby newspaper to play with?

Catchin' Up!

My really good friends from back home recently moved to Idaho (which is way closer to Utah!) Over conference weekend, they came down and visited us for a couple days! It was so nice to see them and meet their adorable kids! We were able to go to the mall and just hangout. We even went to Shaun and Lanette's for dinner.

One of my favorite memories with Amber and Jon was when they blew up photos of me when I was in middle school and posted the posters all over the school for my 16th birthday! AUGH! One of the pictures was of me at a sleepover when we watched the movie "Signs" and later made tinfoil hats like in the movie. I was wearing the tinfoil and my pajamas. I was probably about 13 and completely skinny and awkward. They wrote on the signs "Kiss me! I'm 16!". Sadly, that morning I woke up sick (headache or something-- I don't remember!) but didn't go to school that day. So everyone had to make fun of me without me until the next day... what pranksters!

I've had some really good times with those two and I'm so glad we were able to see them again!

What a RELIEF!

So I have big news! I got an internship to complete my dietetics program! They are super super competitive (only about 1/2 the applicants get in!) I got into the Utah State Dietetic internship- it was my first choice! I am so excited and so relieved. whew! I will start next January! Yay!

The other day we decided to go to the park with Luke because it has been warm and beautiful lately(except yesterday). Luke just seem bored though, I think you can tell that in every single picture. We just could get any laughs, even with my funny voice and faces.
Besides Luke being bored (maybe it was too bright for him), we went on the swings, on the rock climbing wall. It was nice to be out as a family. We went with Victor, Amanda, Nathaniel and Madison.
And of course we had to take a few pictures.

I little bit of an update on Luke:

• He is smiling and laughing more and more.
• He really is a good baby and sleeps through the night.
• He has been starting to grab his bottle, is very cute.
• He makes more noises now.
• He is growing really fast, some of his pajamas don't even fit him anymore.
• He hasn't been sick at all. We are really happy ( I guess Heavenly Father knows that we already are dealing with school, hwk and work)
• He got some new toys from his cousins Olivia and Claire. He loves them! He is playing with them right now (and keeps him from getting too bored!)
• He also got a HUGE bag of clothes from his primo (spanish cousin) Zander. He will definitely be stylin now!
• He is close to turning over but not quite. He can only get half way.
• and he LOVED conference! haha It was a great nap.

Life as we know it

So, here is a quick update of our busy life!

Luke's update:

Luke got some toys! He loves them. He stares and stares at his panda thing and grabs it. Sometimes I think it scares him though. One time he fell asleep in his carseat and all of the sudden I hear this horrified cry out of no where! I think he opened his eyes all sweet and groggy and saw a giant panda head! I'm pretty sure it terrified him. haha

He loves to grab things. We often give him his socks to hold just so he can feel cool and hold something... He also wrote his name for the first time. He personally signed a few thank you cards. :) and sneakily got some pen on his boppy at the same time!

He is officially 3 months since yesterday. time flies.

He sleeps entirely through the night. Usually from about 12 to 8. I often wake up before he does. Now we have to work on getting him to bed EARLIER!

He's working on sitting up. He does well when he is propped, but will fall flat on his face on his own. :)

Francisco's update:

He is busy with school and work.

He is an amazing Papi. He loves to play with Luke. They have so much fun!

He is working on getting his dad to bring us down to Ecuador this summer! We are pretty sure its gonna happen! :) awesome!

He is already entirely too stressed about the DAT and dental school. and thats not until this summer! silly boy.

Em's update:

I go to school everyday. Not much of an update. We get to take Luke to our creativity class every Monday night. We call it FHE... hehe. I actually don't have any homework due for the rest of the week! That in itself is a miracle. but that also means that I need to do my big stuff that I've been putting off for awhile.

For instance, I need to do my cub scout training. It will probably be a good thing since I have NO idea what I am doing with this calling...

I need to do my big creativity project that is due at the end of the semester-- but that is just a few short weeks away! (YAY graduation!!) I am planning on making a bulletin type board for Luke's nursery and then taking creative pictures to put on it for Luke as a keepsake.

I need to find a BYU cap and gown to hopefully borrow since I missed the deadline to get a discount on it... I cannot believe I am graduating from college! COLLEGE! That's like a big deal.

I need to do the dishes. Francisco and I have a new rule that once there are at least 5 substantial sized dishes in the sink, you can wash them and pass on the duty to the other. (We switch on and off who does the dishes) Well, I currently have 8 dishes... and the pile just keeps growing! ugh.

I should probably do some big cleaning stuff like vacuum and sanitize the bathroom, but that probably won't happen...

and now I have to go play with Luke because he is crying. I guess those dishes will just have to wait. :)

Here is our sleeping angel. He is doing great at night. Usually he sleeps 7 hrs a night which is awesome. He is such a good baby.

Luke is HOW big??!!!

Luke had his 2 month check up this week. He is just perfect!
Here are Luke's most recent stats:

He is 11lbs 4 oz (41%ile) That is a jump from his birthweight at the 12%ile!
He is 23 1/2 in long (70%ile) That is a jump from the 25%ile! Wow!
His head is 15.25 in. (21%ile) Just a little jump from the 14%ile.

He must've had a major growth spurt!

Wow...Having one of these is really "handy"

Luke has discover his hands!!!! well at least one of them. It is so funny to watch him stare at it. He looks at it with awe and amazement . We are so happy to have this little angel with us.
We are not going to lie, it is tough going to school, working and doing homework, but it is SOOOO worth it!
